Sims players will be free to customize their gender with a new update this week.
The free update available Thursday will let users choose Sims’ physique, walk style and voice.
Previously, in The Sims 4 and earlier versions of the game, players picked from clothing and hair styles fit for either male or female characters.
Now, the more than 700 accessories and styles will be available to all players.
"Female Sims can wear sharp men's suits like Ellen (DeGeneres), and male Sims can wear heels like Prince,” executive producer Rachel Franklin told the AP.
The development team worked with GLAAD on the update, The Verge reported.
Also Thursday, there were reports of dating app Tinder launching new features for transgender users.
