Mexican football star Alan Pulido has been kidnapped near his hometown of Ciudad Victoria, in the country's north.
The 25-year-old forward plays for the Greek team Olympiakos and has made several appearances for Mexico's national team.
Local media report he had been leaving a party with his girlfriend when he was taken by six masked men.
His girlfriend was left unharmed.
The region is know for kidnapping and violence, with several cartels operating in the area.
